Olen aina halunnut tehdä itse lapsilleni tilkkupeitot, johon he voivat kääriytyä viileinä syysiltoina. Toiveena on, että peitot lämmittäisivät heitä vielä aikuisinakin. Olen pitkään miettinyt kankaisen tilkkutäkin ja neulotun peitteen välillä ja ainakin toinen lapsistani saa nyt villasekoitelangasta tehdyn peitteen. Neulottu peite edistyy näin loma-aikana hyvin ja ehkä teen näitä vielä toisenkin.
For a long time I have wanted to make blankets for my kids. The idea was that they could wrap the blankets around them during the cold Autumn nights. I also wish that they could use the blankets when they are older. I have thought whether to sew a quilted blanket or to knit an Afghan. Today it seems that at least one kid will get the knitted Afghan. The Afghan has progressed really well and perhaps I will knit another one later.

Hienointa mallissa on upeat värit ja nokkela toteutustapa. Peitto tehdään neliöistä ja varsinaisia saumoja tulee vain kun neljä isompaa kokonaisuutta (1 osa = 5x5 neliön kokonaisuus) liitetään yhdeksi peitoksi.
This pattern has two great things: Firstly, it has beautiful color design and secondly, the structure is brilliant. There are only four seams in the whole blanket. The seams have to be made when the four sections (1 section = 5x5 squares) are combined to a blanket.
